We are pleased to inform the sangat that Sikh Political prisoner Shamsher Singh is back home with his family for his 42 day routine parole. In the murder case of Beant Singh, previous Chief Minister of Punjab, Shamsher Singh, has been serving life sentence, since 1995 in Chandigarh Burail prison.

Our team, consisting of Parminder Singh Amloh and Adv Kulvinder Kaur went to meet with Shamsher Singh upon his return to his family home.

Sikh Relief have been involved with this particular case from the Charity's inception, and fully intends to progress this case, until release of the Shamsher SIngh and others implicated in the same case is secured. Sikh Relief representative, Bhai Parminder Singh stated, "that the permanent release application, was under the jurisdiction of the Punjab High Court. However due to the new Supreme Court Ruling, jurisdiction for this case has transferred and now lies with the Central Govt.

Sikh Relief are now undertaking further legal initiatives and processes, pertaining to these permanent releases, and are also providing full financial support for basic needs of the family's household.

As always we rely on the generous support and donations of our well wishes to ensure that the families of prisoners like Shamsher Singh are looked after until the day comes where they are reunited on a permenant basis.
