This is Manpreet Singh – a father of a young family and a devout Gursikh who enjoys performing kirtan. Earlier this year, he was involved in an horrific accident at a bakery, where he works in Patiala. His right arm was trapped in the machinery and unfortunately by the time he was taken to hospital, the doctors could not save his arm. Sikh Relief have stepped in to provide Manpreet Singh with a good quality artificial limb, which will limit the restriction this disability causes to his life. We want the best for Manpreet and want him to continue enjoying his life and young children, to the full. Also we want to restore his dignity and ensure as far as possible that he can return to making a living and providing for his own family.
Maandeep Singh Khalsa
At the age of 5 years old, Maandeep Singh Khalsa from the village of Dinewal in Khadoor Sahib, contracted polio. His mother, who was uneducated, had not heard of polio and was unaware of the correct treatment. By the time Maandeep received medical attention, the doctors were unable to save his legs which both had to be amputated.
