Cleared, ploughed and now sowed, agriculture returns to flooded town…
The Sikh Relief rebuilding lives and livelihoods initiatives continue apace in flood affected Madala Schana.
With initial fears that the flood waters would drain the nutrients and render the top layers of soil to waste our teams we have patiently waited for the water to disperse and began our work.
Checking the soil with special kits we have been able to obtain fertiliser material that will improve the soil quality to beyond that before the floods.
The farmers of the area have been supplied the materials and the seeds to allow for maximum yield and product, so that they may reap their financial reward come harvest time and regain somewhat financial parity to their pre-floods situation.
With the blessings of the Almighty giver of Life and Breath those affected will see their futures not blighted by these happenings beyond the new year.
As always, we are fully aware and eternally grateful to the Guru Pyari Sadh Sangat Ji, as without their support and goodwill our work would be but an idea. We stand before you hands folded to thank you and humbly request that you continue supporting us today for a better tomorrow.
